I was recently asked by Ben Buie, the President Elect of the Graduate Entrepreneurs Association (GEA) at University of Colorado-Boulder (CU) , to be the keynote speaker at their upcoming event, The Idea Workshop.
The Idea Workshop is a speed feedback session for student startup ideas. Entrepreneurs come to get (or give feedback), and help increase the number of successful startups at CU.
When: November 14th, 2012 – Wednesday 6:30pm
Where: CU Discovery Learning Center’s Collaboratory (rooms 1B50 / 1B70)
The event will start with my keynote presentation titled “Make Ideas Happen,” and will discuss how to know if you’re idea is good and worth pursuing. Following the keynote, two rings of circles will be formed. On the inside ring will be successful entrepreneurs , entrepreneurial faculty, angel investors, and venture investors. On the outside ring will be students with ideas. The students will get 5 to 7 minutes of one-on-one time with our guests to introduce themselves, share their idea, get feedback, and hopefully make a helpful connection.
This is a great opportunity for business leaders be mentors to students, and to help make the Boulder entrepreneur community thrive. I am honored to have been asked by the GEA to present at the Idea workshop, and look forward to helping the next generations of entrepreneurs make ideas happen. I hope to see you there.
